The ingredients needed to make Deep-fried Scotch Egg:
  1. Make ready 6 eggs (4 to boil, 2 to remain raw)
  2. Take 1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for the mince and coating)
  3. Prepare 1 medium red onion (chopped)
  4. Make ready 1 tsp minced garlic
  5. Get 1/2 tsp paprika
  6. Take to taste Salt and red chilli powder
  7. Get Handful fresh parsley
  8. Prepare 250 g pork mince
  9. Take Oil for deep frying
Steps to make Deep-fried Scotch Egg:
  1. Soft boil 4 eggs: bring mildly salted water to a roaring boil. Get your egg into the boiling water for 3 minutes for a soft boil and 10 to 12 minutes for a hard boil. Set aside in cool water awaiting peeling
  2. Meanwhile sautee your onion and garlic until fragrant and softened. Set aside to cool a little
  3. Now into a medium bowl combine your mince, sauteed garlic/onion, paprika, salt, chilli powder, parsley, just ½ cup of breadcrumbs, parsley, and 1 raw egg. Mix until fully incorporated
  4. Divide mince into 2 equal portions. Followed by forming patties (like you would a burger), place an egg atop the patty and wrap the mince around the egg until fully enclosed
  5. In a sizeable bowl, beat the remaining egg and dip your egg stuffed meatballs before finally rolling in breadcrumbs until fully coated
  6. Heat oil and deep fry for 6 minutes or until done
  7. Enjoy with a dipping sauce and fresh salad 🤤
